Once again we took a trip into Melbourne Zoo to visit our favourite animals and give the cameras a good workout. Winter was still keeping Melbourne temperatures low, but after a hot coffee, the shutter fingers were ready to go. As per usual, we started with those three cheeky male lions. We arrived to see the keepers setting up a tyre and other activities for them to play with. Once the keepers were safely out of the enclosure, the three boys came running out and immediately started playing with the toys that had been left out for them, even if they were yawning still:
A quick game of chase and tag:

And another yawn:
And then a quick sniff of the keepers:

We then left the boys to play on and went off to meet up with the Nikon School, get some expert tips on wildlife photography and play with some cool Nikon gear (see Nikon School at Melbourne Zoo (19 and 24 August)).
After the Nikon School session was over, we took a quick stop at Lemur Island.
Unfortunately, despite all the signs at the entry, some people just don’t seem to get the message about not bringing in food. One of the lemurs was able to steal a banana from a pram which then resulted in a chase between the animals as they all wanted to be the one to eat it.
Once again we had a fantastic day at Melbourne Zoo and spent some quality time outdoors photographing animals.
