A beautiful cool winter’s morning is the best time to visit one the three zoos in Victoria and on this trip we were not disappointed. The male lions posed sleepily in the early morning sunlight:
Family catch up at Melbourne Zoo (30 June 2017)
One of the best things about being members of Zoos Victoria is the fact that we have unlimited entry every day of the year. This means that we can catch up with family at the zoo, have a great time together wandering the zoo and seeing the animals, and, the best part is that none of us have to clean the house before or after the catch up.
Of course, I naturally go in extra early to get a chance to take some photos before the rest of the family arrives, so I can concentrate on spending time with them too.

A quick trip to Melbourne Zoo (9 June 2017)
Melbourne Zoo announced that the three lion cubs born at Werribee 18 months earlier were now on display, so of course, this meant an early morning trip to visit them (and an excuse to play with the camera again).

A close encounter (22 April 2017)
As part of our trip to Melbourne Zoo, we arranged a “close encounter” with the Sumatran tigers. This involved us in helping to set up the enrichment activities (placing meat and scent in various parts of the enclosure) for the male tiger before he was let in.

A trip to Melbourne Zoo (22 April 2017)
Sanja and I took a trip to Melbourne Zoo as we hadn’t been to any of the Zoos in Victoria since January.
First stop was to check on the monkeys in the canopy walk.
